This twenty-ninth volume unfolds in the very heart of the final Shinjuku battle, pitting Itadori and his allies against the King of Curses. Thanks to reinforcements from Miguel and Larue, the sorcerers’ side finally manages to close in on Sukuna, who nevertheless regains his full strength after triggering a “Black Flash.” The volume is driven by a succession of intense clashes in which every technique, domain and strategy matters, while also showing how Itadori in turn edges closer to awakening through the same phenomenon. Many supporting characters briefly return to the forefront, either to influence the battle or to pay the price for it, reinforcing the sense of an all-out war. Visually, the book multiplies double-page combat spreads and very dense compositions typical of the series. It clearly sets up the conclusion while leaving the situation in an extremely precarious balance that leads directly into the final volume.
